Scout the South Team

"Babs" Evers – Babs took a different route to scouting. A long time outdoor enthusiast, Babs helped start a Venturing Crew with a fellow co-worker after her own children and grown up. She quickly made up for lost time and is fully embracing her Scouting experience and the Leave No Trace movement. She was a fellow Beaver Patrol member with Perryn at Wood Badge and can be seen on the Appalachian Trail or in the Sepsi Wilderness Area many times throughout the year.

Lisa "Cracka"Lester - Lisa is a Gold Star Girl Scout that group up playing soccer in Maryland. Her family moved with her for college where she attended Loyola University New Orleans with Perryn. Lisa was captain of her college soccer team for three and continues to play in leagues around New Orleans when she is not out camping with the crew where she now serves as an Associate Advisor.

Perryn "P Bear" Olson – Perryn started his scouting career as Cub Scout and went up the trail of Scouting to Boy Scouts and Venturing. He is an Eagle Scout and was awarded the Young American Award while serving has as an assistant scoutmaster with his troop and an associate advisor for his venturing crew. He is currently his district camping chair and webmaster and he is a Wood Badge Beaver.

Peggy “Gram” Reeves – There is not much Peggy has not done. From Cub Scouts to Explorers and even Campfire Girls, she has been there and done that. Known as “Gram” in the crew, she serves as the Advisor of her real and “adopted” children and grand children. She is a die hard Beaver and served as the Senior Patrol Leader for the council’s first 21st Century Wood Badge with Tom. Peggy is currently the council commissioner and has been honored with the District Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver.

Danny “Gramps” Reeves – Danny is more than just Peggy’s husband. He is sometimes known as “Plan B & C”. Gramps, as he is known in the crew, loves planning and researching trips. He currently serves as the crew’s Committee Chair and is out resident Super Activity Planner Extraordinaire. Whenever plan B is needed, Gramps is there with B, C, and most likely Plan D. He has been a leader in Exploring and the Boy Scouts before helping to found the venturing crew.

Erica “Zoë” Roddy – Erica is part of a strong scouting family. After years of watching her younger brother and father in scouting where they have gone from Cub Scouts to Life Scout and Scoutmaster respectively, Erica got her turn when she joined Venturing. Erica was quickly dubbed “Zoë” after only a week in the crew and many have long forgotten her real name. She currently serves as the crew’s president.

Tom "Darwin" Rogers – Tom is the long-time Scouter, avid cyclist, and father of two Eagle Scouts. He has seen it all from Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and he is now enjoying the green life as a Venturer. Tom is one of our resident Leave No Trace experts and has served on Wood Badge staff as well as the council health and safety committee chair. Tom is a Wood Badge Owl and has been awarded the District Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver award.

Cathy Ton – Cathy is actually not a Scouter, but an animal and nature lover to boot. She loves horseback riding and is a foster mom for ferrets. Cathy works with Perryn at Design the Planet and she is the designer and illustrator for Scout the South.
